I also designed a new banner for my Etsy Shop to go with the new theme.
OK so I slack like crazy on updating. I’ve been having moments of highs and lows but lets focus on the good for now. I got an internship at Manneristic Studios. The funny thing about this is that all throughout school, I had absolutely no plans of doing concept art. I did very well in the anatomy courses. I was good at figure drawing and perspective… but once it came to drawing cartoony characters and digital painting and environments… I struggled. A lot. It wasn’t until one of my very last classes that I got decent at digital painting almost out of nowhere. It was bizarre, but I kept practicing. 4 years of school, and I had no thoughts of doing concept art, but somehow, in less than 1 year, i’m on my way to doing it. My first character design has already been approved.
I will not stop drawing stick figures though. =}

Sorry for the AFK lately. I was on vacation with family and *gasp* we were staying at a place that didn’t have free wifi!!! Eeek! It was tough to be so… net-less!

Monday, I head out to Reno for a much anticipated road trip with my good friend, Cody. Maybe this time, Clark and I can finally beat Bioshock.
Still got a few orders, which is good. Looked at how much I made last year, and while it’s not riches, it was more than I expected. If I wasn’t using Etsy money to pay rent for so long and to pay for my flights, that could’ve been some decent savings, or a badass vacation. Maybe this year since i’m out of school and able to get a steady job and not depend on Etsy to get by, I can use the money for fun instead of rent!

It was a fun run. I had an amazing time, I loved the entire experience, and the best part of all was knowing that the kids had a great time and have a greater interest in game design because of the course. One of my students even said he’d miss me. Awww!
I go back to Orange in just a few days now. I’ll miss Pittsburgh and the beautiful view from Grandview. I took that photo just last night! I’ll miss the red and gold leaves of the plentiful trees – seasons and natural plant life are both strangers to Orange. It’s time for a new chapter in my life though. I’m back on the job hunt and not sure where it will take me this time around, but I sure hope it’s somewhere good.
Went with a new look for my blog… again. Do you like this theme? I found a theme that I thought was nice and changed the images around a bit and altered the colors in the CSS. So far… i’m liking it. I was hating my old banners for a while, but this seems ok for now! I should perhaps start a little webmuseum of the progress my banners have made over the past year… In October, I will have had this business for one year. That means October shall be the big sale month with perhaps fun things like the banner history as well.
I think Robox, like myself, was happy in Pittsburgh and wants to travel around some more. I was thinking it was about time to have another big sale event for my store to hopefully raise some money for more fun times. I am stuck though, on what exactly I should do this time. What do you think?

Well, I have some really bad news. Right before leaving for my 3 week vacation, my laptop died. Now, I have limited computer access while i’m here, so I will not be updating often for quite a while. The up side is that I am having a wonderful, fun, and fantastic time out here. So… if you don’t see me posting or commenting on your blogs for a while… don’t worry. I’m alive and well and will be back later. In the meantime… sorry for the lull.
I’ll be back up and running once I’m back home and the laptop is working again!
